Boothbay Harbor dog owners: The time has come to travel to the Boothbay Harbor Town Office to get your pooch a shiny new tag providing him or her with legal canine citizen status.

Please bring a current Maine Certification of Rabies Vaccination document as proof that your canine as been immunized against rabies during the past 36 months. If you and your dog have moved here recently and you have an out-of-state rabies certificate, please check with a local vet to obtain more information. Also, if you have already not done so, bring documentation from your veterinarian's office proving that Fido or Fidorella has been spayed or neutered. Licenses and tags for neutered dogs cost $6, while not neutered pets will cost you $11. Either way, to avoid paying a $25 late fee per dog, licensing must be done prior to Jan. 31, 2017.
