Prior to announcing the Boothbay Region High School Class of 2017 top 10 honor students at the April 12 Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District school committee meeting, Principal Dan Welch said of them, “This was a super competitive class. They've placed out at a higher level than anyone else since I've been here. These students have all worked incredibly hard to achieve their academic goals and this was, by far, the closest rankings I have encountered thus far. This year's senior class as a whole is very motivated with bright futures ahead of them.”

The students, listed in alphabetical order, are Samuel Betts, Nicole Clarke, Duncan Drapeau, Kathryne Friant, Joseph Paolillo, Angelique Perkins, Noah Sherburne, Madison Stahle, Molly Thibault and Alexis Welch.

They will accompany Welch to the Mountain Valley Conference Honors Banquet at Thomas College in Waterville on May 18.
