10th annual ‘Museum Day Live’ includes 12 Maine museums

Smithsonian Magazine has announced its 10th annual Museum Day Live will take place Saturday, Sept. 27. On this day, over 1,000 museums nationwide will open their doors to the public for free.

Maine museums electing to participate are: Maine State Museum, Portland Museum of Art, Maine Maritime Museum, Seal Cove Auto Museum, Rufus Porter Museum, Brick Store Museum, The Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum, Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Penobscot Marine Museum, Burnham Tavern Museum, L.C. Bates Museum and the Abbe Museum.

To obtain free tickets, for yourself and one guest (or two tickets per household) go to the Smithsonian Magazine website, www.smithsonianmag.com.

Fill out the form and information about how to download, and your tickets will be emailed to you. Tickets will be emailed from museumday@si.edu.

Tickets can be downloaded beginning on Friday, Aug. 1.

You must present the downloaded ticket to receive free admission.
