Shaving cream on eggs?

Easter colors, Easter shapes, we had lots of fun at the Wiscasset children’s room story hour getting ready for Easter.  Looking For Easter by Dori Chaconis was a heartwarming way for the children to see what Easter can mean to animals. We also read The Great Easter Egg Hunt by Michael Garland,  which had vibrant colors and bigger than life painted eggs and chocolate bunnies that portray a child’s excitement for the Spring holiday.

After reading the books, we embarked on a new craft including shaving cream and acrylic paint.  To everyone’s surprise, dipping the cardboard cut-out egg into the shaving cream with swirled paint in it revealed beautifully designed holiday eggs!

Story hour is every Thursday at 10:30am at the Wiscasset Public Library located at 21 High Street. All good listeners are welcome to enjoy a few stories and an activity to follow, for more information call 882-7161.
