After a summer hiatus, the monthly conversation series for family and friends of those with dementia resumes Thursday, September 24, 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Families and friends of those with memory loss and dementia often feel alone with their thoughts surrounding the day to day issues. We encourage you to attend our monthly meetings which provide a safe, secure venue to express your concerns, thoughts and ways to cope. Speakers and participants offer valuable information in problem solving as well as practical experience in handling challenges.
Our free talks are held in our living room at The Lincoln Home, 22 River Road, Newcastle. For more information, please contact Rhonda Hanna, Director of Community Life, at 563-3350.
At Harbor View Cottage, our unique memory loss community, The Lincoln Home is redefining Memory Loss care. Specially trained staff engage each and every person at all levels of dementia in a safe, homelike environment. The community promotes feeling of success and accomplishment, contentment and self-esteem within the individual’s abilities. Working with the resident, physician and family, our professional caregivers develop a lifestyle plan that addresses each resident's physical, psychosocial and activity/recreational needs. New to Harbor View Cottage, is our Day Care Program that provides respite and peace of mind for caregivers. Socialization, companionship and healthy, home cooked meals provide a rich experience for our day visitors in a safe, secure environment. Make a date with Steve Raymond, Community Outreach Director, at 563-3350 to schedule a tour and experience what a true memory loss community should be.
