Celebrating National Assisted Living Week was a week chock full of fun adventures for The Lincoln Home residents. We kicked off our week by having Jerry Wiles come and share with us the life of Harry Truman, as this year is the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. On Tuesday, the staff and residents had a fantastic Maine Lobster Bake with many choices of salads, corn on the cob and what else but blueberry pie for dessert, all prepared by our award winning chefs, utilizing local, farm fresh ingredients. Wednesday the warmth and beauty of Mount Battie was calling us and we enjoyed our crabmeat sandwiches and homemade cookies in the park. Our final big event was a boat ride around Boothbay Harbor on the Novelty, and the weather was nothing but beautiful. Our residents were happy to share, "I had a jolly good time." – Jane, and, "It was a beautiful day and I am so glad I went." –Jenette
