Secondhand Prose, the Wiscasset Public Library's Friends operated used book sale room which was open all summer, remains available for purchases year around.
From beach reading to winter reading, there remains a wide variety of bargains. Shelves are filled with novels, drama, poetry, biographies, cookbooks, as well as books on gardening, travel, history, art, children’s books and much more. There are also books-on-CD, music CDs, vinyl and DVDs.

The room now has a space to sit and read. A table and chairs make it a cozy place to visit for those who wish to visit it all year around. If the used book sale room is not open at the rear of the library, enter through the library and head downstairs for bargains: $2.00 for hardcover books, $1.00 for trade paperbacks and all non-book items and $.50 for pocket paperbacks.
