You may have noticed that we have an affinity for the sea. The schooners who join us during Windjammer Days showcase our rich maritime history. At Friends of Windjammer Days, we have a strong desire to keep this legacy alive. The next generation is always in the back of our minds as we plan events for our week long celebration. This year, we are extremely proud to be able to give back with a donation to the Boothbay Sea and Science Center. The Center's mission is to relieve economic barriers so that all young people can experience and learn about the enjoyment of the sea - our future sailors. To all who have attended Windjammer Days, and to all who support and volunteer, we say a heartfelt "Thank You". This tradition, 56 years strong, is a step back in time that we hope will continue for many generations. It is a special community we have here, and during the last week of June, we delight in presenting it for all to experience.
