This year four  fresh young faces from NYC, CA, CT, and VT arrived with rakes in hand to join in the library’s fall cleanup. Chewonki’s Semester School students offer a variety of services to the community as part of the school’s Community Service Days.  At quitting time, their van was full and brimming over with leaves and the library grounds were on the way to bracing for the winter months ahead.

Throughout the spring and summer maintenance of the Children’s Garden and the Monarch Way Station falls to the Community Projects volunteers of the Garden Club of Wiscasset.  On October 14th, the entire membership will rally to prepare the gardens for whatever Mother Nature is preparing to bring this way.

Next to appear on Oct.19th will be the rakes and wheel barrows of the Library Board of Trustees, Friend’s of the Library, and a few hearty members of the garden club back for another round. There shouldn’t be a leaf left when this “triple threat” finishes.
