7/25:Learn More About Maine's Tidal Marshes at The Lincoln Home

Event has passed

Join Bud Warren at The Lincoln Home, Monday, July 25, from 3:00 to 4:00pm for an interesting talk on Salt Marshes.

Maine’s tide marshes filter pollution, act as a buffer against flooding and shoreline erosion and are habitat for many marine and terrestrial animals.

In earlier days they were a major source of hay and bedding for livestock. Artists find them a visual stimulus for subject matter. Gardeners utilize

marsh hay for mulch.

The Lincoln Home is located at 22 River Road, overlooking the Damariscotta River, in Newcastle. For more information, please contact Rhonda Hanna, Director of Community Life, at 563-3350.
