KINDERGARTNERS at Boothbay Region Elementary School are provided a trial bus run on September 1, the day before school started September 2. Arriving at the school after being bused from the Boothbay Common and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the young students were greeted by school staff and shown to their classrooms.

FLAG FOR THE HARBOR. Lieutenant Commander Drummond Boord presents Boothbay Harbor Selectman Linc Sample with a flag that flew over the U.S. base in Balad, Iraq. Boord, who has family and friends in Maine, said that he “felt adopted” by the Harbor while stationed at Balad and was presenting the flag as a gesture to his “hometown.” He and his wife, Lieutenant Commander Angel Boord, are presently stationed in Virginia but own a home in Boothbay Harbor and plan to retire here.
