FLAG FOR THE HARBOR. Lieutenant Commander Drummond Boord presents Boothbay Harbor Selectman Linc Sample with a flag that flew over the U.S. base in Balad, Iraq.  Boord, who has family and friends in Maine, said that he “felt adopted” by the Harbor while stationed at Balad and was presenting the flag as a gesture to his “hometown.” He and his wife, Lieutenant Commander Angel Boord, are presently stationed in Virginia but own a home in Boothbay Harbor and plan to retire here. The flag and plaque will be displayed in the town’s meeting room.             Staff Photo/Sue Mello
