Not what you’re going to get

    Dear Editor:

I attended the public meeting on April 14 at the Harbor Theater for the Citizens Initiative for their $10 million project for the school. We were told there is no plan for the $10 million option because they are not experts. We were then told it could be $10 million, $15 million, $20 million, they didn't know.

At the end of the meeting, I spoke to a man holding a clipboard with people's names and email addresses at the back of the room. Confused, I asked him if it was not misleading to get signatures on a petition where people were told there was a $10 million solution. He then told me and I quote, "We're going to start at $10 million and then we're going to go ask for more money."

So if you were asked to sign a petition for a $10 million answer to fix the elementary school, that's not actually what you're going to get.

Please support our schools with a viable long-term solution and Vote Yes on April 24.
